Description
Program:
Confined space incidents are not the most common, but they can be the most deadly. Confined space hazards tend to be misunderstood or underestimated. Many confined spaces fatalities involve not one, but two, victims: the worker and the rescuer.
This 3-day Confined Space course can help your organisation implement and manage a confined space program and save lives. The course supplies the participant with the knowledge and skills to perform inspection of confined spaces, identify hazards, mitigate risks, and initiate a rescue and reporting.
The objectives of this course include:
- Understanding confined spaces concepts and terminology.
- Determining the difference between confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces.
- How to identify and evaluate hazards: atmospheric, mechanical, chemical.
- Implementing procedures for controlling hazards.
- Identifying and using proper protective equipment for confined spaces.
- Understanding expectations and duties of the entry supervisor, entrant, and attendant.
- Implementing procedures for self-rescue, non-entry rescue, entry rescue by company employees, and entry rescue by emergency responders.
- Responsibilities of managing the confined spaces permit entry program
- Inspections of permit required confined space work locations
