Description
This 1 day course is designed to provide a basic level of training in the use of a defibrillator and treatment of other cardiac illnesses to those that have no previous experience of responding to a cardiac event. This course is a must for anyone with an interest in helping a fellow human being in times of need.
The course will provide students with the knowledge and skills to respond to and assist at any medical or trauma incident. The Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC) and Irish Heart Foundation guidelines are used and certification is issued by PHECC. The Alcam Group are affiliated with MDAL Safety Solutions for this Course.
The course is based on the use of theory together with very hands on practical experience to fully equip the participant to handle a cardiac event.
Participants will be assessed throughout the day on their practical skills and a multiple choice theory exam. Certificates are valid for 2 years.
Course Overview
- Chain of Survival (Adults, Children, Infants).
- The 4 major life threats: Heart Attack, Stroke, Cardiac Arrest, Foreign Body Airway Obstruction.
- A.E.D. (Automated External Defibrillator) use.
- Aspirin.
